Dr. David Sanchez is the founder of the Brown Berets and a lifelong champion of La Causa. As a pioneering Chicano activist, educator, and community organizer, he led the historic East Los Angeles Walkouts, the Chicano Moratorium, and the occupation of Catalina Island. His decades of service have shaped the Chicano civil rights movement and inspired generations of community leaders across the nation.
With a PhD and a lifetime dedicated to justice, education, and cultural pride, Dr. Sanchez continues to lead the Brown Berets National Party — guiding the movement into the digital age through Brown Berets TV and the Chicano Power™ platform. Por La Raza, Para La Raza.
